So, a lot of things have happened in the last 2.5 weeks.

1. Everyone gets a little down sometimes. Speaking of — I broke the lens on my Canon a-1. Which should explain the lack of photo uploads. She’ll be back on her feet ASAP.

2. I started school again. Yes, that’s where I’ve been. I feel like building a cot in the textiles studio would actually be a good idea, but then I might lose my mind completely. Weaving and Contemporary fiber forms have taken over 3 days of class time per week, not counting the days I go in early or stay late.

I realized I needed to get into the swing of things. Don’t get me wrong, both courses are more fun than a barrel of monkeys, I just need to act like it’s purely play time for my own sanity. So, I started my weaving assignments and found the following songs to be perfect for weaving:

(Of Course)

I’ve found that Drake, Snoop Dogg,  and BIG are good for the cause also — anything with a heavy back beat and a tempo on the fast side. Suggestions welcome.

Weaving techniques learned so far: Tabby, basket, rib, twill, reverse twill, and cord weaves. I’m an ol’ pro.

3. Britt Stephens is now an employed San Francisco resident. Congratulations to my most wonderful, considerate, witty, funny, resourceful, gorgeous, skinny squirrelfriend. You deserve all the wonderful things SF has to offer. This is going to be extremely well managed. XO, Gilly.

Photos of samples will be up soon.
